Vacation of a Lifetime

Whale Point Cabins was such a memorable experience that we plan on going back next year!! The only bad thing about our stay was that we only stayed for 5 nights and not longer. When we go back next year it will be for a much longer period. Bill Cahill is a super nice, helpful man and gave us lots of information during our stay. We stayed in cabin #2, which was super clean. We had everything we needed. Outside we saw whale and eagles daily. The view from our front porch was beautiful and we enjoyed our fire ring every night. We fished with John Rodriquez of J&J Charters, who Bill hooked us up with and that was another memorable experience. Caught lots of Salmon, Halibut & Cod. Coffman Cove, Prince of Wales Island is a trip of a lifetime and we can't wait to experience it again!!! Thank you Bill for sharing it with us

6th trip

There is NO better place to experience Southeast Alaska than right here at Whalepoint Cabin Rental. Out of six trips to Alaska this one has been the best. The place and the people are pretty special!

Bucket list!!

When my 10 year old son asked if we could travel to Alaska for "Summer Vacation" i was shocked! We travelled from Ketchikan to Prince of Whales Island, Klawock via float plane. Prince of Whales Island is BEAUTIFUL!! We drove 50 miles to Coffman Cove and finally reached our destination of Whale Point Cabin. The beauty of this location is truly amazing. Imagine you're sitting outside with a fire burning in a fire pit and Bald Eagles all around and a 270 degree view of both Coffman Cove and the ocean. I have never slept so well before in my life. The cabin was comfortable and clean. The locals were very very friendly and informative, especially Steve and Connie!! During our stay at Whale Point Cabin we saw, Humpback Whales, Killer Whales, porpoises, sea otters, seals, sea lions, deers, Bald Eagles and a few Black Bears. If your really want to experience Alaska, come stay at Whale Point Cabins and enjoy the beauty Alaska has to offer!! I'm already planning my return trip!!

"AMAZING"

I had a wonderful time ! After a smooth landing in Klawock, Bill's truck was there ready for us for the 75 minute drive through the wilderness to the Wale Point Cabin. We loaded up on groceries because the Cove has the bare minimum at the Rigging Shack. We counted 23 deer and two bald eagles before we even arrived at the cabin. Upon pulling up, the pair of eagles Bill mentioned were there to greet us and the sound of the ocean and peaceful breeze were a great addition to the majestic pair. Before long a breathing sound was heard and a water puff was spotted in the distance. A whale ( likely a humpback) had joined us to make the arrival day perfect. The cabin was clean and comfortable and was mere steps to the rocky shore line. I spent many hours out there discovering an array of creatures to observe. There were wildflowers to pick, rocks to collect , and moss and lichen everywhere. My kind of place. We went river fishing and Jesse and Bill both caught Steelhead which are catch and release. I wore my waders to get through the thick forest to the fishing spots. At night Rebecca and Ron from the Doghouse ( the town watering hole ) were the perfect hosts and we met many of the locals there, all very kind, welcoming, interesting people. We ate freshly caught crab, halibut, and shrimp due to the kindness of many new friends we made. The library there is fantastic and non residents are welcome to sign out books and use the free wifi. We just pulled up several times a day to stay connected to our work obligations. I met a few local artists, most of the local canine, and can not wait to come back again. Highly recommend the Whale Point Cabin ! Bill had great advice to make this adventure a non stop magical experience.

Great Experience

Just got back from Whale Point Cabin. When we drove up, there was a whale about 200 feet off shore playing. On the rocks were two bald eagles. It only got better from there. I am going back. The cabin and experience were 5-star all the way.

Thanks for the great review, it was a pleasure to have you, please come back any time.
